I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Macy's (Los Angeles, CA) in Nov 2010
Interview
I applied online and the next day I got an email that said I could schedule an interview so I scheduled an interview for the next week. So the interview was great, the lady that interviewed was one of the best interviewer I have met. After the interview she told me that If i worked i would have to work Wednesdays during the evening but I couldn't accept the offer because I have a night class in Wednesdays. The only but thing about the company was that in the application I said I couldn't work on Wednesdays and the lady told me that the company really needs workers on Wednesdays because of the holidays and sales. But isn't the interviewer fault.
The questions consisted of: why Macy's?, Do you have sales experience?, and the what ifs questions, which what if you saw a co-worker not doing a good job?, what if you can't a certain assignment in the job?, what if a there is a client that gave you a hard time?.
The questions were straight you just have to be friendly and have a smile on your face even if can't answer a certain question. The only thing was my schedule.
Was interviewed for a seasonal position. Was told they have no seasonal positions, once they found out I was a college student. Made no sense to me quickly ended the interview.
The interview process was straightforward and fairly quick. It started with a phone interview from a recruiter or hiring representative who asked general questions about my background, availability, and interest in the role. The tone was professional but conversational, and the interviewer focused on making sure I could handle a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
I had one interview with the store manager and it lasted for about 45 minutes. The interview was all standard behavioral questions. I was offered the job on the spot.
