I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN) in Jan 2017
Interview
The interview was primarily focused on personality questions, very little on actual lab experience. They more looked for someone trainable who fit in well with the lab. Definitely go over personality based questions, and don't be alarmed by their group interview process. There are normally 5-6 people interviewing you ranging from other research techs to PhDs and MDs.
Straightforward and professional. Had many different interviews and have had 4 Research Technologist lab in the past 6 years. They can vary between short and simple, with no follow up interviews, to long panel type interview with multiple follow up interviews.

Question 1
What the most challenging thing you’ve faced either professionally or personally(of which your comfortable sharing) and how did you deal with it?
My interview at Mayo Clinic was very run of the mill and included your typical situational questions. It was a panel of 3 people and I was very impressed with the professionalism. No gimmicks or games. Clear communication through the post interview process.
