Focused on cultural fit before technical. Loved they wanted to focus on the culture. Technical interview was in depth and tested my ability. Went through 4 rounds of interviews.
1st interview - culture fit
2nd interview - resume and experience
3rd interview - role play and in depth questions
4th interview - meet C-level team
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Medlify (London, England) in Aug 2023
Interview
I applied through LinkedIn and was promptly interviewed by the lead product manager. Despite lacking direct experience in product management, I had numerous interactions with the role. She assured me they prioritized the right attitude and I'd learn as I worked. She did ask a few technical questions and expressed her positive impression. My subsequent interview with the lead engineer was conversational, with me primarily asking questions. In both advanced interviews with the CEO & CTO and the lead engineer, I wasn't posed a single technical question. I found this omission unprofessional, especially since the interviews should have gauged my competence. While the meeting with the CEO & CTO centered on logistics, I was left with the impression I had secured the position and anticipated contractual discussions with the Chief of Staff. However, two weeks later, I received a generic rejection email attributing my non-selection to a lack of experience working with engineers, an aspect previously addressed and deemed non-problematic. Their rejection, without adequately assessing my technical knowledge, especially when they had previously assured me of my qualifications, was disheartening. I requested feedback on this unexpected decision, but my inquiry went unanswered. Overall, the experience was disorganized and left a negative impression.
