I had a series of three interviews for a part-time cashier position. The first interview was with the department manager and was mostly a first impression type interview. They ask you why you want to work at Meijer and go over the job description and your availability etc. The second interview was much more formal and was with the director of customer relations. Then the third interview was with the store director in which he extended an opportunity for employment. In the interviews they kept talking about how I would start out at 24 hours a week and then could work up from there. I thought this was reasonable because I am a hard worker and usually progressed up the ladder pretty quickly so I accepted the offer of employment. It turns out that I only got 16 hours a week and they had no intention of giving me the ability to move up and get more hours no matter how much effort I put into my job. If you are looking for a positiin that is only two shifts a week while you go to school then this would be a great position but I wouldnt recommended applying if you are trying to make a living (unless its for a full-time position). All together, I felt the interview process was long and time consuming and a bit excessive for a position that only consists of 16 hours a week.

If they are opening a new store you will have interviews with at least the store manager and regional manager. They will have a few phone interviews to start. I had three phone interviews. Then they will invite you to the interview event where you learn more about the company. From there, you will interview with one employee. I interviewed with the gas station manager, store manager, and then the regional manager. He was the one that offer the job to me. For the in person interview, I was there for almost two hours.
