The hiring manager was extremely rude and called my piercing “stupid” and said I need to permanently take it out when I told him I even could flip up my septum piercing for job purposes. I was very professional while he was not. I asked how they felt about tattoos and he said they’re gross and that I couldn’t get any tattoos while working at this business. Staff there screamed at each other, swearing, threatening to beat each other up. I saw this while going in for my background check. Their rules and regulations were too sketchy for me. Their turnover rate shot through the roof. It also astounded me how often they had so many “no call, no shows” he explained to me. It’s just a very sketchy job. When I was still interested in this job and was calling back, NONE of the meijer employees knew where to call what department. When I went in for my interview, I saw on the counter, taped down, phone numbers you can call throughout the store with department names. When I called the Starbucks branch, the individual was so lazy she didn’t even look at the paper and redirect my call. She said “hang up and call customer service.” So, I did that. And they had no clue who the hiring manager was. How? I don’t know. They treated me like i was idiotic for not knowing the hiring manager’s extension.
