Micaela Erlanger is a anti-black racist.
I interviewed with her for an assistant role in 2014 during my earlier career. It was a 3 minute interview with her giving my resume back in my hand (incredibly weird, unprofessional, and passive aggressive — it felt as though she was sending me a message; I don't ever want to see your resume or consider it).
I sent her an email in 2015, regarding an opportunity for a podcast I was working at for CBS Radio. Her assistant responded and I was kind enough to help her get on it — an opportunity to increase press for herself.
Fast forward to 2019, I interviewed with Micaela Erlanger's company staff for a Digital Content Manager role. The interview went amazing. They confirmed they'd have me meet with Micaela Erlanger. A few days later they removed me from the interview process (Micaela Erlanger refused to interview me for the job).
Micaela refused to hire me or consider me for employment opportunities because I was an accomplished black female. I had the best background, and every time I'd look to work for her company she'd deny me. I called her out about this via email. What does she do? Out of nowhere she hired a black female in the role and guess what?? That black female lasted in the position for less than 5 months. It was clearly a diversity hire that she had no plans on keeping. She wanted to prove a point.
Micaela has horrible reviews on Glassdoor. She seems to be a terrible boss, but most importantly doesn't follow EEO laws. I also know a latino stylist who worked for her. I was his intern at Vogue. He lasted for less than 6 months too.
Her company has apparently gone down the drain. Not surprised. I believe she's racist and treats people terribly.
