I had two in-person interviews for a position, and overall, the interviews themselves went well. The team was friendly and I felt that I was a strong fit for the role, with relevant experience and qualifications.
However, I was disappointed by the follow-up process. I was told I would receive an update by a certain date, but it took much longer to hear back, and I had to follow up myself. In the end, I was informed that someone else was selected — apparently a candidate with project management experience — despite being told I was well-qualified and had ideal experience.
Given that I had to travel quite a distance for both interviews, I found the lack of timely communication and clear feedback frustrating. My advice for others would be to request a remote interview first, especially if you're not local, as the company’s headquarters are quite remote. Be mindful of the time and effort involved, and ensure you're getting clear expectations from them early on.
