I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Mount Sinai Health System (New York, NY) in Apr 2012
Interview
you have a phone interview with PI and if you fit, you get invited to present your previous work to department.
I got the offer from a PI I knew before so it was not a real interview per se. I presented my work done during my Ph.D.. I visited the lab and got an offer right after. this is very rare and it was because of my network.
