      Finance Interview

      23 Nov 2021
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NBCUniversal in Nov 2021

      Interview

I applied to "Finance Internships – Spring" and heard back about a non-hirevue video interview about two weeks later. I specified that it wasn't a hirevue interview because I was told they were reviewed by actual people and not AI. This was a huge game changer for me because I am awful at hirevues. The way it seems to work on the back end, at least for this posting ("internships" plural) is that each department watches the video interviews and chooses who to reach out to. A couple departments reached out about scheduling hiring manager interviews immediately after I submitted my video interview. They varied in both department (film, tv, etc.) and finance division/category (fp&a, accounting, etc.). The interviews were almost 100% behavioral questions and the interviewers were all extremely nice and easy to talk to. The only non-behavioral questions I was asked had to do with the industry as a whole so along the lines of "how do you picture the changes in this industry in the future?" Two of the three video interviews questions were: "Tell us a little bit more about your story. What has uniquely positioned you for an internship opportunity with NBCUniversal." and "What attracts you to NBCUniversal and which of our brands are you most excited to be applying for?" Each human interviewer seemed to be going off their own questions, so I think these can vary drastically. I'll type the non-video interview questions that I remember below.
