Phone interview three weeks after application submission, followed by a long delay before being scheduled for a four-hour, in-person interview with a panel and one-on-one with the head of school, recruitment director and the comms team. Required to attend a class with students and submit a news article about the experience the next day. I've read about irresponsible hiring practices but never encountered one myself until NCS. The comms director did not respond to a follow-up email or answer post-interview questions; did not respond with any feedback on the assignment; and after nearly four months, had still not sent an update or advised that another candidate was selected. In short, the most unprofessional behavior I've ever encountered. It's an incredibly bad look for what's supposed to be an elite institution. It would be easy to put more ethical practices into the hiring process. All it takes is a few minutes of courtesy instead of ghosting.
