I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Nordstrom (Tigard, OR) in Apr 2013
Interview
Initially I applied online, then was called by HR for an interview at a specific store. I went to that interview, where I was asked very standard non-difficult questions. The interview lasted about 45 minutes. A week later, a manager from the At Home department called me for another interview. That interview was with him and one other floor manager. These questions were all related directly to sales/customer service. This interview lasted about one hour. Afterwards, we walked over to the department and he asked me to sell him something (role play). A week later he called to offer me the position.

Question 1
None of the questions were hard, but make sure you emphasize that you love working with people, that customers come first, and that you shop at Nordstrom.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Nordstrom (Seattle, WA) in Apr 2025
Interview
Very standardized interview with the department manager, all behavioral questions, was a little repetitive. Only one interview round. Make sure to ask about commission payout because it differs by department.

Question 1
Tell me about yourself/walk me through your resume. Do you have any sales experience?
Very simple, just an online interview followed by in-person. Asked about past experience and situational questions dealing with customers. Nothing too hard but always remain customer-oriented. Got my offer the following day and started the following week.
Straightforward questions but will ask a lot of scenario questions! No need to be intimidated just be yourself and be truthful when answering questions. They want to see if you’re a good fit not only for sales but for the company and their values.
