I was contacted by HR who quickly gave me the details about the job and sent my resume to the team. They were excited to interview me. In total, I had 5 technical interviews.
Round 1: basic Linux skills, including tools to check performance and solve problems. The HR team got back to me the next day to plan for the next steps. Since I was close to getting an offer from another company, they arranged the next 4 interviews on the same day, one after another. 2 interviewers were from the US and 2 from India.
Round 2: Linked List questions 3, Easy to Medium. Few questions on work exp. A bit about what I've worked on before, and a friendly chat about virtualization to see if I understood it well.
Round 3 - Hiring Manager: In depth discussion of work experience, design decisions explained alot about team and checked alignment in terms of technology.
Round 4- OS, Virtualisation and Distributed Systems: The interviewer was very strict and went through every single bullet point on my resume, asking detailed questions about DNS,System, kernel, OS, Multithreading, multiprocessing. Even though I was confident in my answers, they didn't seem to believe my answers, even though I was confident and checked my answers after the interview. This interviewer was quite direct and seemed to want to prove me wrong, which I had read about before in other reviews about interviews with Indian interviewers at Nutanix.
Round 5- Programming/ Troubleshooting: focusing on coding problems and questions about operating systems, virtualization, and networks. This round ended a bit sooner than I expected.
I want to give a big shout out to HR – they were among the best I've interacted with. Despite the mixed experiences with the interviews, the HR team's efficiency and helpfulness stood out.
