      Software Engineer Interview

      18 Jun 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Omada Health (San Francisco, CA)

      Interview

Interview process was fairly standard: 1) Phone screening 2) Take home coding challenge: It's not that difficult, and you're given a week to complete. 3) Onsite: 2 pair programming sessions with 2 different engineers: Note that they have a real pair programming culture in the company. Engineers ideally pair with different people every few days. And they don't even have permanent desks since they move around so much I did fairly well in all the sessions but was rejected because they wanted someone with more pair programming experience.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

You pair program on the actual codebase. No whiteboard/leetcode type questions asked

      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Omada Health in Mar 2024

      Interview

The process of getting in touch with the company was daunting. Initially, my application was rejected immediately due to a misunderstanding regarding my location, despite being based in the United States. This issue was addressed in a subsequent conversation with a recruiter, who informed me of the mistake. The position seemed well-suited to my experience, and everything appeared to be aligned. However, after only a brief interaction with the recruitment team, I received an automated decline. This experience suggests that the recruitment process could benefit from improvements to ensure that candidate qualifications and information are thoroughly reviewed before decisions are made.

Thank you for your feedback. While we are a remote-first company, we do have some initial questions in place asking applicants if they reside in the US as due to variety of security reasons, Omadans need to be able to work within the United States. We apologize this verification may have added some time to your interview process and are glad that we did get a chance to discuss the role with you. Though the role may not have been a fit, we have a variety of technical roles that come available at times with different skill needs. Please do keep an eye out on our Careers Page and we hope to hear from you again. All the best to you in your career journey.

      Software Engineer Interview

      9 May 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Omada Health

      Interview

Just a heads up these guys move very fast through the interview process. Initial phone screen -> tech screen -> onsite -> offer. All of this happened in about two weeks. They were very quick to respond and move me along to the next step. Onsite consisted of two pair programming sessions, a lunch break, and debriefs with the recruiting team and hiring manager. For the pairing we just pulled tickets and worked through them. I felt that this type of interview was much better for getting a sense of what the work would be like. I also feel like it allowed me to showcase my skills and strengths. No one asked me any BS/stress questions. Definitely one of the best interview experiences I have ever had.
