PACE Credit Union interview questions

They apparently were desperate to hire someone as fast possible so they were only doing 1 round of interviews. (Red flag) They were impressed with my skillet and experience and point blank told me "you are the best candidate we have interviewed for the job, you should expect a job offer in the following days" The next day, the IT department manager calls me and says he dosen't think I'm worth the salary I'm asking for, and claims another person is willing to do the job at a salary 40% less than me so they will be passing me up unless I'm willing to match them. (I was asking for $70,000). I just hung up the phone and shook my head in disbelief. Complete waste of my time, they will waste your time too. All they care about is saving money, and not quality employees. Funny part is 3 months later, I saw the same job positing for the role I was applying too. I guess the tech workers here have a high turnover rate so beware.
