There were two rounds of technical and not so interview. The process, from speaking to technical recruiter to the time I received an offer, took less than two weeks. For some reason they were rushing things by rescheduling future interviews to "can you do it today".
A communication nightmare started after I accepted the offer.
First, I received an offer letter that included job ID I did not applied for. Another issue was the compensation part. I've applied for contract to hire position and agreed on certain hourly rate . However, compensation stated annual rate. When I reached out to HR person who sent the letter, he said that he is not aware of Job ID I referring to. Than I've contacted technical recruiter who I discussed the job with and agreed on compensation rate. Her answer was that that position has been fulfilled and no longer available.
It was a red flag, but I decided to proceed anyway and signed updated offer, which stated three weeks in advance start date.
I've started to receive million emails from different people, asking to complete and sign many different forms. Few that stand out were: a background check one which I've submitted t right away, knowing it could take up to 7 business day. Another one was an I-9 form. In order to complete this one, I had to schedule an appointment and meeting face to face with the Agent. There also was a drug test.
Anyway, 16 days past, no result from background check, no communication from team at all, nothing. My start day is 5 days away and I have no laptop, monitors, nothing. I decided it's time to move away from this nonsense. I wrote a letter with explanation to HR. Up until today, no reply what's so ever.
Two days after my anticipated stat date, I'm receiving an email from background check provider, stating that they are in need of a copy of original diploma, that I've received 30 years ago in another country, plus other paperwork. My goodness, what a mess.
The entire process felt so overcomplicated and confusing. I'm very happy that I declined it.
