      Specialist Interview

      10 Apr 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Oklahoma City, OK
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Paycom (Oklahoma City, OK) in Apr 2017

      Interview

The process took about 4 months to land an interview since they have just started to interview upcoming college graduates. The receptionists were very quick with check-in. There was a mathematics and reasoning assessment on a computer shortly before the interview in which you need to try to answer 50 questions in 12 minutes as best as you can. The interviewers were friendly, but vague on what they were looking for in a candidate. The interview lasted about 30 minutes per interviewer. There were 2 of them at separate times, so 1 hour total. One of the interviewers looked at their phone during the conversation while I was speaking to them. The interviewees that attended with me all looked to be college students indicating there is a young culture at Paycom. Apply if you want to be thrown in the usual social occurrences that you would see at college campus. There also seems to be a lack of diversity even though they claim otherwise--and will continue to claim otherwise. This was the discouraging factor for me.

An interviewer should not be distracted during an interview. We are looking into that matter. In regards to a young culture, we hire a mixture of both tenured and new grads. Our new hires are based on how their application stacks up against the requirement of the position. Paycom is committed as an EEO employer to diversity throughout our organization and we’re actively working on ways to expand outreach. Best of luck in your career search.

      Specialist Interview

      22 Nov 2023
      Anonymous employee
      Oklahoma City, OK
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Paycom (Oklahoma City, OK) in Nov 2023

      Interview

I submitted my application, one of many, and all of my information was saved from the last time. In a very short turnaround, they contacted me for a phone screening. They asked me some simple questions about myself and then gave me a lot of information about the job and Paycom. She said that she would forward me on to the next round and gave me some pointers on how to perform well in the interview stage. I received an email with some suggested material to review and notes on how to interview. My interview happened quickly after that and was just 2 other people and myself sitting at a round table. They asked only about 5 questions and asked if I had any questions. I asked my questions and then left. I got the call offering me the position the next day.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Tell me about a time you ..... I can't remember the specific questions, but they were all worded this way.
