Interview
3 step process: phone interview, in person interview and a technical interview with the artistic director. they place you based on how you perform with your model. if you appear to be inexperienced you will be placed at a lower level and be payed a very low basically un-survivable wage until you test out to a higher level which does take time.

Interview
There is a technical interview where you bring in a model for a cut and color. There is an informational interview which is typically done in a group setting. There and salon visits or shadows where you experience the salon environment. There are email following up after all of these asking for your opinions and feedback. Finally, there is a finial interview where you are asked more questions and if you are offered a job you will be presented with a contract.

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Phia Salon (Columbus, OH) in Jun 2016
Interview
Whole process took a month. Never was told who the owners were until after the 3rd process. They make you come in for a visit which is for an hour and then come in for a shadow which is for a whole shift. you cant sit down and you have to talk to someone or they consider you rude and "unfit" for being shy. Owner was being rude and told me i couldnt get the job because i was rude. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
