PickNik Senior Software Engineer interview questions

Was given a 15-minute initial interview and was explicitly told I was being moved forward, and to hear from the CEO next. When I followed up I was told "We have a few candidates who have experience more aligned with our needs so we will not be moving forward with you" - so why was I told I was being moved forward? Also, the job description had a salary floor but not a ceiling, so they didn't post a proper range in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
