I sent my application through their website and was contacted just a few days later by a recruiter. I had a call with her, which was very positive and confirmed the good impression of the company I got by reading about them. After this initial screening, I interviewed with the hiring manager, who delved into my motivation for the role, personal interests, future projects, and previous experience. Overall, it was a very pleasant chat. The manager suggested that he could also look for more senior roles that would fit with my profile and refer me for those positions.
I had to wait quite a bit to receive feedback on the interview; I actually reached out personally to the recruiter after three weeks, at which point she informed me I had not made it to the next and final stage (it would be a conversation with the Head of People, if I recall correctly). I was also told they had tried to check whether there were other openings I could be suitable for, without success.
It was upsetting to get the news only upon my request, which I expressed to the recruiter. After that, she mentioned that they had only reached a final decision the previous evening and also provided me with some detailed feedback, which kind of made up for the previous lack of communication and left me with a good impression of the company, although the outcome was not what I had hoped for.
