Director of Sales & Marketing Interview

      2 Jan 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Warrenton, VA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Poet’s Walk (Warrenton, VA) in Nov 2019

      Interview

I received a call from an HR rep 2 days after I submitted my on-line application through a job site. We spoke for a few minutes, seemed to go well and she stated she would have the community ED reach out to me. After a week I called the HR rep and left a VM that I hadn't received a call as of yet and I was entertaining other offers and positions, but was very interested in this position. A couple of days later she called and said the ED would be calling me shortly. She did that day and we set up an in-person interview off-site for a week later. We met and she shared some of the previous and current dynamics with the team and community. We talked salary and she said she could make my minimum work. She told me to "mystery shop" the person they were letting go the following day and although I was a bit uneasy about it I did do it. I was told I would get a call from the VP of Sales as the next step in the process. I did not hear anything so I emailed, texted, and then spoke to the ED directly. She said she would contact the VP that day and hat I would likely hear from her on Monday since it was a Friday(totally understandable). After three business days with no call I emailed and left VM's for both the ED and HR rep. I never heard from anyone, not even an email saying I am no longer under consideration or that they have filled the position. The position has been posted again. How completely unprofessional and a complete disregard for my time and interest!! Shame on them...certainly hope this is isolated to them and not the entire corporate culture, but the CEO needs to address this with them and hold them accountable for their lack of professionalism and respect.

      Question 1

Do I need to hear "good job" a lot or every day? (I was told not to expect it from the company corporate office.)
