      Account Executive Interview

      14 Jun 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Pulse New York (New York, NY) in Jun 2023

      Interview

First I was suspicious because I didn't remember applying for their company, I let it slide because I had been applying to many jobs, I thought maybe I had forgotten. Second, first interview turned out to be a mass zoom call where nobody got to talk, the CEO told us about the company but after the call I don't think I could describe exactly what they did. Third, a real interview with someone who had been in the company for 3 months, saying they had already had a promotion because the growth in your career depended on how fast and committed you wanted to be. also felt like they vaguely explained the company but couldn't answer/seemed nervous with some of my questions. Fourth! they mentioned If I was good enough I could come and work Saturdays. Because again, my growth was a result of my commitment to the job and how hard I worked to grow. Fifth.... just general "love bombing" compliments for being selected out of 100 people, lots of numbers describing how fast they were growing and how much money they made in such little time, lots of email and text confirmations and 3 different questionnaires. I could keep enumerating red flags, to be honest.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

1st. Are you looking for full-time work? We do not offer any remote roles. Is traveling to midtown a commute you'd be happy with on a daily basis? Are you authorized to work in the U.S? Are you comfortable in a customer-facing role? If you answered YES to the above questions our director would like to invite you for a brief zoom meeting. 2nd. What was your last role and why are you looking for something else? What career growth opportunities are you looking for? If you are selected today, are you available for a zoom interview tomorrow at 9:30 am? 3rd. How do you feel this opportunity will help you reach your goals both personally and professionally? Of the WE SMART qualities we discussed today which would you say are your biggest strengths and which would require most improvement? If successful, when are you available to start? Is traveling into midtown NYC on a daily basis a commute you would be happy with? Please send your response back via text (quickest and easiest way!)

      Question 2

They kept asking me if I felt I was right for the job, I talked 3 times with 2 different people, those 3 times I was asked the question, on top of the questionnaires, and when I asked questions, they answer with: we will discuss it later, or something generic that didn't really answer anything. Honestly they kept repeating themselves.
