I applied online. I interviewed at QA (London, England) in Oct 2023
Interview
One of the most challenging interviews I've experienced was marred by a hiring manager who exuded arrogance and appeared to exhibit toxic behaviour. Throughout the interview, he casually instructed another member of the interview panel to take notes while he sat back, crossing his legs, and posed questions. What was initially described as a 40-60 minute interview turned into a significantly longer ordeal. The hiring manager meticulously dissected my CV, jumping between various roles, and rarely allowing me an opportunity to provide thoughtful responses. It almost felt as though they were seeking a candidate for a department head position, but without explicitly conferring the title.

Question 1
During the interview, I found myself fielding a multitude of questions. The initial part of the interview was dedicated to an exhaustive examination of my CV, which consumed almost 40 minutes. This deep dive into my background was followed by a transition to the hiring manager's inquiries, which, unfortunately, felt disjointed and unclear. It left me somewhat puzzled about the direction of the conversation and the relevance of those questions to the position.
