I have spoken with the Recruiter and the reason for not receiving an email post-rejection in our system is that he wanted to reach out direct to explain the decision, particularly as you were a referral candidate, and with the hope that we could re-engage you in future if a similar position arises. We agree that the time it took for the Hiring Manager to make a decision was indeed longer than it needed to be, and this is something we are genuinely looking to improve across the whole business - it is not good enough.
