A Mixed Experience Rating: ★★☆☆☆ I recently had an introductory interview with Zena for the Growth Marketing Lead position, and I wanted to share my thoughts on the experience. While the interviewer was pleasant and professional, there were several aspects of the process that left me feeling uncertain about the role and the company. Firstly, the interview itself was somewhat unusual. I expected a growth marketing role to involve specific and technical questions related to marketing strategies and tactics. However, the interview lacked these questions, which made it challenging to gauge the depth of the role. One of the most significant concerns was the disconnect between the job description and the interview discussion. The job description mentioned nothing about this being the first marketing hire for the company. This is a critical detail that can significantly impact one's decision to pursue a role, and it should have been explicitly mentioned upfront. During the interview, there was a strong emphasis on launching products on Amazon while simultaneously developing foundational marketing, including building a website. This dual responsibility raised questions about the company's readiness for a Growth Marketing Lead and the clarity of its strategic direction. I was informed that I had progressed to the second round of interviews, but unfortunately, it was never scheduled. After reaching out to inquire about the status, I was notified that we would not be moving forward. When I sought clarification about whether the position had been filled or put on hold, I received no response. In summary, my experience with Zena by way of Quten Research Institute left me with mixed feelings. While the company may have a promising future, the lack of transparency in the hiring process and the disconnect between the job description and interview discussion left me with uncertainties. Clear and open communication with candidates is essential to creating a positive impression and fostering trust in the hiring process.
