Did not have a good experience with Randstad. First issue was that during first in person interview the lady interviewing asked me my current salary which I found odd seeing as how this question is becoming illegal in more and more states and with randstad being in so many states you’d think they would not ask. Regardless, is just not an appropriate question and helps nothing. So I politely told her that I didn’t wish to stay at my current salary and proceeeded to give her my target salary requirements. She then insisted again so I hesitated thinking how odd is this and she then told me that it was required that I tell her so she knows what jobs to seek out. I then said again my target and she got frustrated and said it was required and I had to tell her so I did. Then she asked if I received bonuses as well, etc. She then started asking specifics about programs I implemented at my job. Seeing as how I was also working for a staffing agency, it felt more like she was trying to compare our jobs and what strategies I was doing, she even asked what client I was working for. I found it very unprofessional and after having to take a few tests that I aced online and going to this branch for the interview I never heard back. Not a single follow up. Ah....but that’s not the end. So I had an acquaintance who said he knew a regional Vice President who was really good and to give them another try. So I reached out to this person by email and it took a month to get an email back. When she emailed me back she said she was busy and then went on Vacation so I can understand that but really there should have been a follow up by someone in the office. So long story short we talk on the phone about what jobs I’m seeking, etc. Guess what? Another whole month went by and no word from her either even after me telling her my experience with communication the first time. So I email her and she apologized and said that she had started an email to me but apparently never finished it. Yeah! That’s what I got. I’m not giving this company a third try.
