Initially, I received a call from the recruiter who was raving about how wonderfully my resume matched with the job. He had also informed me that the interviews would last 15 minutes with an offer at the end if the interview went well. After the phone call, he sent me an email confirming the date and time for the virtual interview in Teams. Fast forward to the day of the interview, the interviewer was 5 minutes late. I checked into the teams call early, but time had passed to 5 minutes after the interview start time. Concerned that I was ghosted, I momentarily left the teams call to call my recruiter to make sure my interview was at the specified time in the email. It turns out that when I called the recruiter, the interviewer herself had come into the Teams room when I had momentarily left, making me late to the interview that she was late to. The interviewer stated that she didn’t even have my resume which was insulting and appalling. She didn’t give me a chance to offer her a copy of my resume because she basically kept going on to ask interview questions and only allowed me one question at the end of the interview. After I asked my question, the interviewer told me that she won’t be extending an offer today. I had called the recruiter a day later to follow up only to be sent to voicemail with no callback. Looking back, I am glad that I didn’t get the offer because the whole recruiting and interviewing process was so disorganized and loaded with incompetence.
