I applied for a job at this company for a sales position through a job board. I received a message on a Tuesday, expressing a wish to interview me on either Thursday or Friday of that same week. I message them back on the Tuesday informing them of my preferred times on those days.
Because it was evening time on the Tuesday I waited for the next day Wednesday to check for messages. No reply from them so I sent a polite reminder in the morning. No reply from them that entire day, no message through the job board, no email, call or text either. Bear in mind that both of the proposed interview dates are coming up fast and I don't know when they'll want me for the interview. Thursday comes around and so I sent another message expressing disappointment at the lack of contact.
They claimed they were 'called into a meeting' for appears to be the entire day of Wednesday, leaving them unable to find time to contact me at all which didn't make sense. They then stated they were going to remove the offer of an interview - I guess because I expressed disappointment (I wasn't abusive at all, just frustrated after other similar ghosting situations with other companies). I then get a rejection email not too long after that interaction. I'm not sure if I was dealing with an external recruiter or someone from the company but it doesn't reflect well on them either way.
