Interview
After my first interview with the founder, he told me to keep some time free the following Friday to come into the office and meet the team as a second interview. He then ghosted me. I contacted him a few times to follow up, and he didn't read the messages until months later, even though he had told me to keep time the following week.
Whilst he may have decided that another candidate suited better, which is absolutely fine and a part of the job hunting process, the lack of respect shown through his behaviour shows me that I made a narrow escape, as our values clearly do not align. I believe in good communication and transparency.
Culture comes from the top, so I hope that as the company grows, they address this because ghosting someone is highly unprofessional and I believe a calculated move, demonstrated by the fact that he didn't respond to multiple messages checking in.
