I had a first interview with the recruiter, an assessment to complete at home, an interview with the hiring manager, a problem-solving interview with a Senior TA and the final interview with the Chief of People.
The interviews with the recruiter and the hiring manager went really well. They were both nice people and had a good impression.
The assessment at home was a bit difficult: I spent some time preparing it. There are some free tests to take but they are not really good. I ended up buying a package of 5 tests which were very useful.
The problem-solving interview was about giving me a problem to solve: Decreasing the time to hire software developers, and increasing the conversation rate to hire software developers. I had to ask questions like "how the recruitment process is broken down? How many days does each stage of the process take? and once I found the problem, I made recommendations. It doesn't matter what recommendations you made, you have to demonstrate how you think and arrive to find the problem.
In the final stage, where I didn't make it, I met the CPO. He went through my CV in all the possible details, he wanted to know specific examples of even very old work experience, including what my manager would have said, what my biggest achievement was at X company etc... It doesn't seem too difficult but the way he did it was horrible: he sounded very judging and sceptical about everything I said. He made me a lot of pressure, giving me no time to answer, interrupting me and rushing the interview. By the end of the interview, I was without breath like I was running!
They are obviously very KPIs focus but I also had the impression the culture is very challenging and you'll work in a non-collaborative environment where even the CPO seems a wolf who enjoys making people uncomfortable.
No regrets, I was really curious about Revolut but I had the confirmation that I don't want to work in a similar environment.
