      Software Engineer Interview

      4 Aug 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied through other source. I interviewed at RubiconMD

      Interview

Talked with the CTO and really enjoyed it and made me interested in the company. Then the technical interviews happened and it went downhill. There's 5 technical rounds which is a huge waste of everyone's time. First there is a timed hacker rank problems to solve which were not difficult but trivial. Then you have a technical high level interview with some engineers, a whiteboarding interview, a take home assignment, then a follow up to the take home. So you're looking at like 1 month of interviews already. I was extremely turned off after the first 2 technical interviews, as I think that was enough to assess my qualifications but it just kept going. The technical interviews were also pretty nerve wrecking as you would have 1 engineer doing the talking and the other mostly sitting in silence, all over a zoom call. They made 0 effort to really get to know me outside of my technical skills and I was pretty much uncomfortable for every interview. I also just found it odd they wouldn’t do the take home assignment first since that is the closest thing to seeing how someone works.
