    Waitress Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Birmingham, England
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Average Interview

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took a week. I interviewed at Searcys (Birmingham, England) in October 2016.

    Interview

I initially applied for the job role through caterer.com and was emailed by a senior manager of Searcys Birmingham, I was invited to an interview with a supervisor and she was very open-minded and friendly. As we are apprehensive for an interview, we tend to expect the worse (well, I do) and we often build up to a negative outlook upon how we communicate ourselves to the interviewer. Upon starting the interview, I was slowly relaxed and not as worried as I did before the interview itself.

    Events Staff Interview

    Anonymous Employee
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at Searcys in June 2018.

    Interview

Arrived at 9.45 for the 10 AM interview(called open day) at the GHERKIN l get ticked off a long and scary list of names. They check my bag and myself like they do it at the airport and l take two different lifts to the 38th floor where a room full of about 30 people welcome me politely.

The first stage of the interview
The questions below are asked in a group of 6 and one person introduces each one of us.

The second stage of the interview
Working in the same groups of 6 we get to write about Searcys on a A2 piece of paper- history, venues, etc.- we are given 3 different info booklets where we take the information from. This gets presented by one of us.

    The third stage
At 11.30 we get to witness a cocktail class at the top of the Gherkin w/ a 360• view over London, where we are privileged to taste & make the famous Porn star 💫 martini 🍸 & Montana.

    The fourth stage
As we get back to the interview room we find a quiz in the PowerPoint presentation- how many squares are there in the shape (30).

The next game we are put through is the endless phone where someone whispers a few sentences in someone else’s ears and it gets passed through two different groups of people.

The next phase is a quiz that are put trough- again- in teams-about the history and venues of Searcys(proud my group won with 6-3-1).

    And that’s pretty much it!
    Hope l was helpful!

    Cluster Event Sales Executive Interview

Anonymous Interview Candidate in London, England
    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 4+ weeks. I interviewed at Searcys (London, England) in March 2016.

    Interview

    1) Received e-mail confirmation to schedule an interview
    2) Met with the Business Development Manager & Events Sales Supervisor at one of their cluster offices
    3) Both of them were friendly, asked questions related to my hospitality/events background. I've been told that they would get in touch with me the week after, however, it's been more than 3 weeks since the interview now and they have never e-mailed me back nor replied to my e-mail. I find this very unprofessional.
