      I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Sensyne Health in Nov 2019

      Interview

      I was approached by a recruiter who submitted my application for this job. A while later the hiring manager called me over the phone and he asked a number of typical HR question. Then they sent me a machine learning challenge and I needed to solve in two days. Afterwards, I had an interview with two of the senior researchers. They mainly asked about what I have done before. Interviewers were nice people and it was a pleasure talking with them. When interviews where over, I waited for around a month not hearing any feedback. One day, just out o the blue, they gave me a few days notice to travel to Oxford for the final interview! Since I didn't even possess a U.K. visa, I asked them to conduct the interview in another format (maybe a video call). It was then that they decided not to continue with my application. I have a general suggestion; If you are applying from abroad, the interview process with this company might not go smoothly. It took a very long while to get any sort of feedback after each round of interview. The hiring manager generally didn't reply to my emails. And, in spite of giving me feedbacks such as "we are impressed by your solution/CV/ etc." after each interview, they suddenly decided to drop the application.

      Interview

      Three rounds interview. 1st round: HR interview on the phone 2nd round: Interview with three Senior engineers and ML engineers. 3rd round: technical interview with 7 principal engineers / senior engineers. Here you have to prepare a 10 min presentation about a project you have worked on. You start the interview process by knowing that you are applying for a full-time permanent role. When you get an offer it is for 3-months contract role. The external HR follows you during the entire process. However I can see some miscommunication between employer and external HR which leads the candidate to wait a long time. It is quite an effort to prepare for those interviews but then you get disappointed when you get a different offer from what previously mentioned or when you do not get a call back at all.

I think we could have communicated our hopes for you more clearly, and this might have made the initial 3-month contract offer more appealing. We interviewed extensively for the role to which you applied. We offered it to one of our three final round candidates, but your application was so good we tried to create another opening. Part of our hiring plans for early 2021 will definitely include more ML hiring, so it was our hope that we could bridge the gap by offering you a contract role initially. Sorry if this wasn’t clearer, but we really did want to have you join the team. Thanks again for sharing some interview insight here.       HR interview, Data insights exercise, Technical interview, Presentation and final interview. The interview process was lengthy and I received very positive feedback throughout, however, after the final interview they decided not to proceed. Very little feedback was provided at this stage (less than 1 sentence!) and further requests for feedback have remained unanswered. Given the investment of time and effort that goes into completing their assessment, this is unacceptable. I suspect they could also make more efficient use of everyone's time by having a very clear picture of the type of candidate they want, before proceeding to final interview stages.
