Interview
Standard interview process. I applied online and was asked to come in person for an interview. They asked about my experience and a few questions about Sephora and a week or so later offered me the job.
I applied online. I interviewed at Sephora (New York, NY) in Jul 2026
Interview
Submitted an app the middle of the previous week. On Tuesday of the following week I received an email for a 15 min interview. I accepted the offer and was only given the following day as option to interview, to decline or to “reach out for help” if i need help selecting a day and time. The day of the interview, I introduced to myself to the greeters and they were they seemed unbothered flippant - they respond only when spoken to. Its like 4 of them there aloof and would do anything but. A finger point led me to the maze before entering. I greeted everyone there no response and was directed to be seated. The ASM was kind enough at first and made it a point to not talk about anything beauty or sephora. She wants to know about me. Cool. Im genuinely passionate about beauty so in mentioning it during a few unrelated facts that I had to about myself it came up and she seemed completely turned off. She asked typical questions about my current role - What i like, what i dont like, what ive learned. Whats a weakness and whats a strength. I tried to ask something about her in turn and got lukewarm walled off answer for about half the other half was fine. Was told I’d hear back by a particular date and didnt hear back. I followed up via email then received a boiler plate response from the software they used - the email was completely ignored. Not worth requesting feedback and to be fair Im not the best interviewer. Regardless, not the best display of integrity and character in the process on their end.

Question 1
What do you like about your current role? What don’t you like about it? Tell me about a moment you were coached.
Pretty standard interview. A lot of the questions emphasized selling to the customer so focus on that. If they ask what your favourite product is, don’t just say what it is. Try to sell it to the interviewer.
