I applied online via Seek when I noticed a store was opening on the Gold Coast. I was contacted just over two weeks later via email. I booked in to a group interview of about 40 people. Overall they interviewed 150 people and only 40 people are being hired. The HR representative, store manager and trainer were there to interview us. We watched a presentation about Sephora's history and asked how much we knew about Sephora (so do some research). We were then asked to stand up and introduce ourselves. If you don't like speaking in front of a group this may be difficult; except it was really relaxed and not too much pressure. We told the group our name, previous experience and jobs, mentioned something that made us unique. Then we had to pull anything from our bag and sell it to the group. Example: Pick a lip balm and talk about the smell, how long it lasts during the day, travel size, if it's cruelty free, natural ingredients etc. Or you could choose your phone and talk about it's features, talk about why you need it in your life. Be confident and show your passion. Then we were assigned groups of about 7 people and were asked to build a tall tower out of newspaper and sticky tape that would be strong enough not to fall over while holding a full drink bottle. This is to show how well you work in a team, how good you are at time management, if you show initiative and positivity. Try get involved and it's not so much about winning against the other teams. Then we were asked to find a partner and had 15 minutes to do either a smokey eye or bold lip and cheeks. There was Sephora makeup and brushes that we choose and did a quick makeup look. They watched how we worked with our partner, not so much how good the make up was, they wanted to see our skill level. After that we took our seats and it was our turn to ask some questions. Try not to ask questions they already went over in the presentation, prepare some questions like "Why do you enjoy working for Sephora? Is there area for me to grow my career at Sephora?" Etc. The interview was around 2.5 hours and afterwards I went up to the HR manager and thanked her for the opportunity and briefly spoke to her so they would remember me. Overall was a pretty easy interview, don't let the nerves get to you. It was fun and I didn't feel like there was a lot of pressure on us. I was called back for the 2nd round of interviews which is a one on one interview. Hope this helps.
