Interview
Training hour held in a pub, assessing your ability to serve customers food, pour pints and lay tables. Ensuring you have basic hospitality skills for the job. Overall very basic and easy.

Interview
When applying for this role, I stated I did not have recent serving experience. You have to attend a ‘Skills Assessment’ with other individuals. You have to arrive in their stated clothing such as black smart shirt, not a blouse, black trousers and shoes. I did not have a black shirt, only smart blouses, so I went out and bought one. The skills assessment included setting out a table, opening a wine bottle and carrying drinks on a tray etc I was confident that I had completed all tasks well. I did not hear back from the staff member who ran the assessment and when I chased them up, I was told I was not suitable due to my lack of experience. If I was declined initially due to this (which I had made clear in my cover letter), it would have saved me driving there, paying for parking and paying for a smart shirt. Overall, this interview wasted my time and money.
