I was reached out via email and answered a list of questions they provided. Then there was a design test. They provide compensation for any tests/trials conducted which was nice. After the design test, it was finally round 3 – a video interview. This was where things went downhill. Immediately, I was able to tell that this business encompasses a very cliquey-behavior with extreme expectations. For a job so basic and templated, it surprised me that I didn’t make it to the FOURTH round of interview and yes, they have tons of interview rounds for a PART-TIME GRAPHIC DESIGNER job! The questions asked and job expectations were pretty basic and straight-forward so I knew they weren’t looking for an expert to grow their brand. They’re just judging the way you look and the way you fit into their clique. As a person with beauty industry experience with probably more experience than the person I interviewed with, this brand is looking for someone to micromanage. The moment I joined the video interview, I felt judged (IYKYK). Also, seemed like the interviewer has never heard a joke before. Interviewer also dodged sharing a bit about themselves and their professional experience which was strange. There’s tons of red flags overall and no feeling of inclusivity. If they didn’t move forward with you, maybe consider yourself lucky.
