      Flight Attendant Interview

      27 Jun 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Dallas, TX
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 12 months. I interviewed at Southwest Airlines (Dallas, TX) in Jun 2019

      Interview

It was a fairly short day, we had a small group (6 people). The interview was in the DAL HDQ, we were offered a flight to and from home. The interview started at 13:00, we had to be there for 12:30 for fingerprinting. Make sure to bring your 2 IDs (for fingerprinting), your resume and reference letter (if any). There was no group activity, no stand up and talk about yourself in front of everyone, no read an announcement out loud. First they took us in to a conference room, where they gave us a sheet w/ information about the job and expectations. After that the recruiters split up and two recruiter was interviewing one candidate. It took about 35-40’ to go thru a session. First they asked for my resume and handed over my references as well, then started going thru my work history. They asked about my current job and anything related to it. I worked for airlines before (check-in and Flight Attendant) and was asked loads of questions about those jobs and situations I may have had while working there. They wanted to know about a situation when I had to deal with an upset guest, emergency situation (any, not specifically airline), when I went above and beyond, and such. They seemed nice and sweet, but still, it was an interview. Make sure you smile and be fun. I usually am, but was not able to crack jokes as easy as usual. Make sure you talk to the other candidates, be friendly and outgoing, it will also help to relax you a bit. They did not specifically asked me if I knew anything about their mission, vision, purpose, values or culture, so I tried to incorporate these in my answers. At the end we had to climb thru an overwing exit (small cut out), walk between two tables that supposed to be an aisle of the an aircraft and buckle up in a jump seat. I cannot tell more specifically about the questions during the interview since everybody’s experience was different (I think their questions depend on your work background). I have selected “NO” for offer as I am still waiting to hear back.
