I applied through other source. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Spinit (Gothenburg, Västra Götaland) in May 2022
Interview
I got through an initial interview with someone at Spinit and had a great conversation. The business itself is "lagom"-scale and doesn't want to make itself too big or too tiny, which I appreciated. It also had been around for quite some time and felt very stable.
What's more - there was a concerted attempt to make a cultural shift from sort of traditional comp sci backgrounds to developers who had recently gotten into programming and had non-traditional career paths, which sounded really refreshing.
Unfortunately, they seemed reluctant to have someone primarily remote, and the everyday language of the workplace is Swedish. I'm new to Sweden and my Swedish sucks at the moment (I'm working on it I swear lol). Both the interviewer and I decided it wouldn't be a good fit.
I think Spinit would have been an amazing company to work for if my circumstances were slightly different. If your Swedish is better than mine and you're a little more comfortable commuting into Gothenburg, I would highly recommend them. They sound great.
