I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at State Farm (Bloomington, IL) in Feb 2009
Interview
Applied online. They called me to set up a pre-interview test. Tested and met with HR representative for department. Set up a 2nd interview with hiring manager and her peer. Had a 1 hour discussion/interview with them. They asked about my skill set and knowledge of State Farm. Had a 3rd phone interview with hiring manager and different peer to discuss education and likes/dislikes. Was offered position 3 days later. Whole process lasted about 45 days. Great company!
Interview included a case study exercise. Decision was within timeline described. Interview process transparently described by recruiting team. Interview included typical competency based questions. Video interview system was easy to use.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe a time when you had to coordinate across multiple areas to achieve an outcome.
HireVue video interview
Interview had around 5-6 general HR questions.
You will get practice time for each question. Once practice time is up, HireVue starts recording. It seemed fairly easy at beginning. I would prefer in person interview than this type of interview.

What do you consider your greatest strengths and weakness
Tell me a situation where you had conflict with your team member. And how did you resolve the issue
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at State Farm (Dallas, TX) in Jul 2024
Interview
It was a three step process. I had to do an online interview via hirevue where you get random questions and have 2 minutes to answer. If you pass that round, you talk to the recruiter and they tell you next steps and the benefits package. For the real interview, i spoke with 3 hiring managers and it took after an hour.
