Statement interview questions

I applied online. I immediately received an invitation to take a HackerRank coding exercise. It consisted of two problems: 1) string manipulation / ascii code conversion 2) HTTP get request for some data. The second one caused me issues, as it didn't support, fetch, async/await, or jquery. It also didn't say what it supported, so I just had to code a modern solution, try it, go back to the previous technology, try it, etc. Expecting candidates to demonstrate current Javascript skills without access to any technology from the last 10 years is ridiculous.
