I was shortlisted for an interview to be a Service Delivery Manager. The interviewer only started looking my resume during the interview and decided that my background was not suitable for what he was looking for. He said so as well. The interviewer was cordial and polite, tried to explain what the role required, and why my background was not suitable. I didn't have a problem with not fitting - not everyone can do every job. The issue is: if they had actually looked through my resume before shortlisting me, nobody's time would have been wasted.
