I applied in-person. I interviewed at Tesla (Tempe, AZ) in Oct 2025
Interview
I completed three rounds of interviews for a Prototype Vehicle Operator role with the Autopilot team. After the final interview, I received a verbal job offer — twice — including a follow-up call from the recruiter to discuss shift availability. About a week later, I was informed that the offer was no longer available. They did not provide any reasoning for their abrupt change in decision but eluded that it wasn’t anything on my end.
The interview process itself was organized and engaging, and everyone I spoke with seemed passionate about Tesla’s mission. However, the abrupt withdrawal of the offer without explanation was disappointing and discouraging. Candidates invest significant time and effort in the process, and clear communication — especially after a verbal offer — would go a long way toward maintaining trust and professionalism.
I still admire Tesla’s mission and innovation, but the recruiting team must improve transparency and consistency when managing candidate expectations
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Tesla
Interview
Lengthy process going through 3 interviews in one day. First was a group interview. From there they selected the few for the driving test. If all went well you get interviewed by the hiring authority.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Tesla (Austin, TX) in Apr 2025
Interview
I went to Austin to do the interview. It was a two step process. The first interview was with someone who works the job I applied for. The second interview was a behind the wheel with the hiring manager.
