Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why Tesla, why does this role excite you? And other supply chain-specific technical questions, like conflict management between stakeholders, etc.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Tesla
Interview
No one on my interview panel had their cameras on the entire time, which I have to say was very off-putting.
I think overall this was a pretty typical supply chain interview. The interview team consisted of the hiring manager, some of his direct reports, and people from other teams who interact with his team. I was asked several questions about work I had done in the past. They also had a lot of "what-if" questions, like what if the price was too high, what if engineering doesn't like the spec, etc.
I declined the offer to go to a company with better work flexibility.

Question 1
What would you do if engineering thinks the price is too high?
What if the supplier can't deliver on time?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Tesla (Palo Alto, CA) in Apr 2024
Interview
I had three rounds of interviews: HR - hiring manager - panel (5 people, on site). You'll have to do a 30 min presentation before the panel interview. Most of the interviewers are very nice (especially the female leaders) and mainly focus on my resume experiences, but I do remember one interviewer from the technical team kept challenging me during the whole interview, as I don't have experience in the electronics industry. The work place is newly furnished and I can definitely smell it, and I saw some of the employees do not eat during the lunch time, so I can imagine they work really hard. Overall it's a good experience for me, just be prepared for the workload.

Question 1
What are the metrics to evaluate the new suppliers?
What if the supplier is not able to deliver and you do not have any backup suppliers?
Why do you want to switch to electronics industry?
Why should we hire you if you know nothing about electronics?
