Went through 3 rounds of interviews over a 3.5 week time period.
Round 1 - 30 min phone interview where the entire "interview" was the recruiter having me dictate the story behind one of my portfolio projects while she literally wrote down word for word what I said. Extremely strange and awkward.
Round 2 - 45 min Zoom interview with a design lead, which went great
Round 3 - Take home design challenge that I put together over a two week time period and then presented to a cross functional team of five individuals over Zoom along with 2-3 projects from my portfolio, followed by 5 separate 45 min one-on-one interviews with each person. Ran out of time on my presentation but the individual interviews all seemed to go pretty well.
Result - Recruiter called me one day after the last interview and told me the team enjoyed meeting me but that I wasnt "the right fit at this time" with no further context or feedback.
Suggestion - If a candidate has just spent nearly a month going through all stages of your lengthy interview process and all you leave them with is "not the right fit" then you need to take a look at how you are respecting the time and effort people are giving to your company. Could I have pressed for more feedback? Yes, but that's besides the point.
