The hiring manager was confused about the salary from the get go. I was quoted an initial salary range as base when I checked multiple times but later she said it was inclusive of super. I had 3 rounds of interviews including a presentation with a case study and I got really good feedback when suddenly the team that initially liked me showed concern that I might be too senior for the role. After 2 weeks of silence, they cited that reason to drop me as candidate. I was flexible with salary and asked if salary was a concern but they stated no. It felt like they don't respect candidates time as my seniority for the position would have reflected after the first interview and they could have saved my time and theirs.
