I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ThinkTank Maths
Interview
Absolutely no questions about myself or why I wanted to work there. The interviewers did not seem to be bothered to know me, just how well I could answer tough mathematical modelling questions on the spot. They will ask you 3-4 of these, which you will have to work out in pen and paper and then hold up your solution to the camera for them to copy down. I've experienced bad interview processes before (I interviewed in Oxford for string theory PhD several years ago so go figure) but nothing like this. As said in an earlier review, no discussion about my answers, only 'is there anything you'd like to add?' at the very end.

Interview
Awful. Dehumanising experience, lasted around 3 hours - would not recommend. Almost no interaction with the interviewers. It was basically a really badly formatted maths exam, conducted on Skype. You had to answer maths questions on paper (in silence whilst they muted their microphone) then hold up the solution to the Skype camera which they would then copy down. I got told of for smiling at the ridiculousness of this by one of the interviewers. There was zero discussion about your solution - which was a stated policy of theirs. No description of the company, questions about yourself or why you wanted to work there. They then had the audacity to ask how I had found the interview format at the end. They seem to not understand that an interview is a two way process.

Question 1
To be fair, the mathematics questions were interesting but hard.
