I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Toastyy in Dec 2021
Interview
The interview process consisted of two separate Zoom video interviews, one of which was with someone from the sales team, and the other that was with the same person from the sales team and the CEO. During both of these interviews, I was told that I would be receiving a base salary + commission and would later have the opportunity to renegotiate my salary based off of my performance with sales. They both expressed to me that they wanted me to join the sales team and that I'd be hearing from them in a few weeks regarding onboarding, training, etc.
When I was finally contacted regarding my official offer, I was told my compensation package would include nothing but 10% commission for the first 90 days. This came to a complete shock considering I had been told by the sales team and the company CEO that I would be receiving a salary from the start. Separate from the lack of salary, they didn't even offer hourly compensation for the hours put in–essentially meaning they were asking for free labor without advertising as such.
When I responded to seek clarification regarding why the salary had been revoked, I received no response. Given that I was supposed to begin training the following morning, I sent a follow up email letting Toastyy know that I was withdrawing my application due to the fact that I wasn't interested in giving away free labor.
I still haven't heard back.
PLEASE be aware of this if you are interviewing with this company!
