I applied online and then about a week later received a phone call from a Travelers recruiter for the Catastrophe division. She was very professional, nice, and understanding woman and scheduled to do a phone screening/phone interview. It lasted approximately 30 minutes and went over most of the items on my resume and she asked me to elaborate on a few of them. It concluded with some other general questions and was a very nice conversation...About 3 or 4 days later I received an email and call asking me to come into the office for an in person interview that would range anywhere from 1-3 hours. My interview took approximately 2 hours and consisted of a 2 on 1 interview with the department/hiring managers. Both were very professional and a pleasure to interview with. Make sure to prep before this, the questions are very in depth and often consisted of 4-6 parts each question. I advise you are well prepared for about 8-12 long open ended answer questions. I then had a peer interview with someone in the position I'd be working in. She was around my age and very intelligent. I must say it was a very good experience to have gone through, I cannot stress it enough though to make sure you prepare before going....About a week after my in person interview I was called to set another phone interview this time with someone from HR in Hartford,CT. Again very professional and a great experience in this interview, this one took about 20 minutes and she asked more about strength and weakness and a few questions about my prior employment.....A week later I was called and offered the job pending a background check and drug test. Their offer I thought was very generous given my little to no experience in the insurance industry, there was no need no to negotiate. I accepted the offer and a week later after the background check and drug test I was officially hired....If you have an opportunity to interview for this company I highly recommend going through the process, it is definitely good experience to have. I cannot say enough about how great and professional the process was, keep it up Travelers!
