I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Travelers in Mar 2019
Interview
- Applied online, HR rep emailed 10 days later to schedule intro interview
- Initial phone interview with HR: basic questions, kind of your standard first get to know you interview
- Three days later got called to schedule an in person interview
- NOTE: Always have your pitch ready. Each interviewer will ask you to sell yourself and convince them you are the best candidate for the position.
- First in-person interview: interviewed by the four managing directors for the different underwriting business units. Pretty intense process, entirely behavioral questions (tell me about a time when...etc.). Definitely prepare for this interview, as it’s 45 straight minutes of non-stop behavioral questions and they want very specific examples and details
- Few days later got called to schedule second in-person interview; more relaxed the second time, mixture of get to know you questions and behavioral - goal seemed to be to confirm cultural, personality, and skill-set fit.
- Couple weeks later was offered the position

Interview
Great program. Great management who wants to hear why you want to be in underwriting. Come prepared with Questions to ask- at least three. They ask behavioral questions. Good luck!
