Application
I applied online. I interviewed at Tripadvisor (Oxford, England)
Interview
5 stages of interviews online with increasing levels within the company. Sadly that meant starting with someone who knows what the job is and the type of experience and knowledge that it will take to do the job well to someone who didn't have a clue on the day to day or how to interview.

Thank you for your time and interest at Tripadvisor. We are sorry to hear that you did not have the best interview experience. I will share this feedback with the team to ensure we do better next time.
Interview
HR person called me the day after I applied online. He was very friendly and asked the usual questions such as why I'm interested in the position/company, my skill set/past work experience, etc. He then set me up for an in person interview with himself, the hiring manager, and the team for that week.
My interview was set up at 9AM, I arrived at the lobby and waited for about 15 minutes for the recruiter to come and pick me up. As expected, he was very friendly in person and we sat in an interview room for about 15 minutes for any last minute questions I may have for him before meeting the manager/team.
This is where things started to go downhill. I first met with the hiring manager, and as we started getting into the interview it seemed as if he lost all interest. As times, I felt that he was a bit rude when talking to me. The main questions asked were behavioural and about my past experience. The interview process seemed very monotonous. I then met with three other staff members on the team (two of them actually moved onto another team in the company, so technically there was only one person that was from this team). I had similar experiences with all three - the interviews were very dull and they were just asking questions down the list one after the other. It felt very mechanical and less like a conversational human interaction.
Afterwards, I met with HR again for any final questions before leaving. He informed me I would be notified of the decision in a week, which he did. I was told I didn't get the position, and they went with an internal candidate instead.
I was pretty disappointed with how the hiring manager and team presented themselves as TripAdvisor is known to be an excellent company.
